It assesses the gamut of institutional activities, from the quality of degree programs and non-degree programmes in the field of executive education, through to research and community outreach.
Accreditation criteria also focuses heavily on institution’s degree of internationalisation, enabling the EQUIS quality label to indicate an accredited institution’s high quality standards in the international arena as well as its local and national market.
AACSB International Accreditation
In April 2003, UQ Business School became the first comprehensive business school in Australia to achieve AACSB International accreditation, which covers its full range of degrees including undergraduate, masters and doctoral programs.
AACSB International accreditation is recognised as the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide.
Established in 1916 in the United States, AACSB International began its accreditation function with the adoption of the first standards in 1919.
Other AACSB International accredited institutions include prestigious US Ivy leagues such as Harvard Business School, Cornell University, Dartmouth College and Yale University.
Seven other schools in the Asia Pacific region carry AACSB International accreditation, including the AGSM, University of Sydney, National University of Singapore, Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Keio University (Japan), and Seoul University (South Korea).
AACSB accreditation was awarded following an intensive process spanning three years, which focussed on faculty quality in research and teaching, student quality, admission processes and standards, student support services, alumni support, infrastructure and resources, and the School’s international reputation.
