The Behaviour Research and Therapy Centre at The University of Queensland's St Lucia campus will be conducting small group interventions for anger management in children aged from 10 to 13 with Aspergers syndrome beginning next month..

The intervention consists of six two-hour sessions on consecutive Saturdays, plus one intake interview with parents to be scheduled at a convenient time before the intervention.

A parent is also required to attend the parent training sessions which are held at the same time as the child sessions.

Dr Tony Attwood has developed the intervention and the therapists conducting the sessions are Masters and PhD postgraduate clinical students currently in training.

All therapists have been trained to work with children with Aspergers syndrome by Dr Tony Attwood and Dr Kate Sofronoff, who will be supervising.

Anyone interested in participating should contact Dr Sofronoff on 3365 6411 or email kate@psy.uq.edu.au.
