People aged more than 65 years are needed for a University of Queensland study into transport and lifestyle issues.

“The research aims to better understand the situation for older people living in the community and is part of a larger study looking at outcomes for older people who give up driving,” said Jacki Liddle from UQ’s School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, who is completing the research as part of her PhD.

“We hope to speak to a range of people including those still driving, but particularly those who have stopped driving or have never driven.”

The project is being carried out by the University’s Department of Occupational Therapy within the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and UQ’s Australasian Centre on Ageing.

Ms Liddle said the volunteers needed to be living in the community and would be interviewed once in their home.
