School leavers awaiting the release of OP scores can receive assistance at University of Queensland tertiary and study options sessions at the St Lucia and Ipswich campuses next month.

The Queensland Studies Authority intends posting Tertiary Entrance Statements and Senior Certificates to students on Friday 13 December. Current Year 12 applicants have until 30 December to change their preferences in time for the major round offers. 

UQ Admissions will run a Tertiary Options Session in the Abel Smith Lecture Theatre, Campbell Rd, St Lucia on Wednesday 18 December 2002 to coincide with the release of the OPs and students changing preferences. The St Lucia session times are 5pm to 8pm. Information about studying courses at the Gatton campus will also be available.

UQ Ipswich will hold a Tertiary Options Session on Tuesday 17 December from 6.30pm to 8pm. This session be held in the foyer of Building 12. All programs will be represented and an Admissions staff member will be presenting on the night as well.

The sessions will assist people in considering options for entry to UQ programs, as well as advice about QTAC applications and satisfying entry requirements.

Vice-Chancellor Professor John Hay said that UQ degrees had the quality and contemporary focuses employers sought in both established and emerging professions.

"If it`s cutting edge, you will find it at UQ," he said.

UQ`s range of programs include e-Commerce/Laws through to Biotechnology and emerging areas of education, such as the Middle Years of Schooling.
