Information seminars about the 2002 Queensland Rhodes Scholarship will be held at The University of Queensland's St Lucia campus on Thursday July 19 and Wednesday August 1.
The seminars will be held at 12 noon in the Executive Meeting Room on Level 4 of the Brian Wilson Chancellery, St Lucia.
A total of nine Rhodes Scholarships are available within Australia, three for Australia-at-Large and one for each state.
The scholarships, which are tenable at the University of Oxford, cover full tuition fees, a personal stipend and assistance with travelling expenses within the United Kingdom.
Rhodes Scholarships were formed under the will of a British colonial pioneer and statesman, Cecil John Rhodes, who died in 1902.
The first Australian Rhodes Scholarship tenures were in 1904 and since then more than 500 Australians have been awarded the prestigious scholarships.
Applicants must be aged over 18 but under 25 years-of-age on October 1, 2001.
Applications for the Queensland scholarship close at 5pm on Monday September 3.
