Event Description

Full Description:
UQ Wellness and UQ Nutrition and Dietetics Group present:
It is often said that we are only 1% human, because our body is the host of 99 bacteria for every cell that makes us up. When present in the right diversity, these micro-organisms are savvy little engineers acting in numerous health processes, including gut health. Diet is a major modifiable factor that influences gut microbiota composition and activity. In this seminar you will learn: 1) some fundamentals about how the residents in your gut look after your gut health; and 2) what to include in your diet to help your gut microbiota thrive.

This session is offered by the Nutrition and Dietetics Group in the School of Human Movement and Nutrition Science, and includes a cooking demonstraiton, with a handout of recipes and tips for immediate practice
