- The Support and Services Showcase aims to connect new and returning students to central, faculty and school level services. All the main university services will come together at the UQ Centre on March 27th to help students discover or re-discover services, programs and opportunities that will benefit them throughout their university life. Students will also have the chance to win a number of amazing prizes including a Microsoft Surface, vouchers and more.
WHY SHOULD I COME TO THIS EVENT?
-You might be finding the first few weeks of university challenging and may not know where to go or who to ask for help or assistance
-You might be facing a new challenge this year, experiencing difficulty at home, or may be finding exam and assessment periods stressful and need some extra support
-You are open to a global experience or overseas learning program but you just don't know how to get started
-You are looking to change your course or you aren't happy with your degree and you want to discuss your options
-You feel disconnected from your faculty and general services and you want a better understanding of programs and workshops at your disposal
-You are looking to talk to someone and would like to discover better strategies to help you throughout the year
-You need extra support academically or with the English language
-You want to boost your employability status through volunteering, internships or programs
-You are interested in balancing your life with physical activity and want access to gyms, facilities, sporting clubs and more.
WHY IS THE SHOWCASE HELD ON THIS DATE?
The Showcase will be held one week before census date to help students re-group and connect to information as they reach their first major milestones and assessments of the semester. Students will typically have a better understanding of what they might need in the way of support once they have settled in and will have a better understanding of their timetable and priorities.

A connection to support services within schools and faculties
Student Services support
Mental health support
Library information
Student help on campus
