Event Description

Full Description:
Do your students find it difficult to translate their academic work into transferable employability skills? Attend this workshop to gain new knowledge and skills to support your students in making the 'connection.'

Recent advances in developing Employability Skills are helping learners to recognize how the capabilities they develop in their academic programs can transfer into other workplace settings. This workshop by Dr Thomas Carey will use an example from a Canadian Workplace-Higher Ed collaboration to illustrate some of the issues arising in transfer of such generic skills across contexts. Participants will apply the lessons from this example – and experiences shared by other participants – to the development of Employability Skills in their own programs.
