Event Description

Full Description:
Bring the family to celebrate the 56th anniversary The University of Queensland’s Moreton Bay Research Station (MBRS) at its free annual open day on Saturday 24th November from 10am to 3pm. People will be able to enjoy free cruises on Moreton Bay, see a live animal show presented by Geckoes Wildlife, get up close and personal with marine animals at our touch tanks, and participate in art workshops with Reverse Garbage. A local Aboriginal guide will take visitors along the Goompi Trail, a one-hour historical walk along the Dunwich foreshore. A public lecture series will be held in the Station’s Library from 10.30am, with topics as diverse as coral health in Moreton Bay, cephalopod vision, and the formation of the Bay. Please join us for this great family day out. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
