Join us at this year's Alumni Event for a short presentation by Professor Edward Holmes, followed by refreshments and networking.

About the speaker

Professor Holmes is a Professor in Biology and Medicine at The University of Sydney. He is internationally recognised for his work on the emergence, evolution and spread of infectious diseases. Professor Holmes has studied the emergence and spread of the avian influenza virus, HIV, dengue virus, hepatitis C virus, myxoma virus, rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus and the plague bacterium. He was awarded an Australia Fellowship by the National Health and Medical Research Council in 2011 and is a Fellow of The Royal Society (2017) and Australian Academy of Science (2015).
