- We are delighted to welcome our keynote speaker Mr Ali Al-Saffar (Energy Analyst, Directorate of Global Energy Economics, at the International Energy Agency in Paris). Ali's visit follows our very successful Energy Exchange presentation in February by the IEA Executive Director, Dr Fatih Birol.
The topic of Ali's presentation will be 'The Southeast Asia Energy Outlook 2017', which is a World Energy Outlook Special Report. Ali is the lead author of this report, due for publication in October.
His speech will be followed by a panel discussion and question and answer session.
Ali is an energy analyst in the Directorate of Sustainability, Technology and Outlooks at the International Energy Agency in Paris, and an author of six editions of the IEA’s long-term forecast, the World Energy Outlook.
Prior to joining the IEA in 2012, Ali was a country economist and chief automotive analyst at the Economist Intelligence Unit in London. He has degrees in economics and development studies.
