Full Description:
On behalf of the UQ Energy Initiative, we invite you to register for our first Energy Express Seminar for 2017:

• Professor Simon Bartlett AM will give an overview of Australia's power system drivers - power system security and volatility of wholesale market prices and Queensland's role in Australia's transition to a low carbon economy. Simon holds the API/Powerlink Australian Chair in Electricity Transmission at The University of Queensland.

• Adjunct Professor Jim Snow will speak on regulatory constraints and policy issues. Jim is Adjunct Professor at The University of Queensland, and Executive Director of Oakley Greenwood.

The presentations will be followed by two case studies: Meshing the NEM, and SEQ's undeveloped hydro pumped storage resources, and a question and answer session.

Please remain for light refreshments following the presentations. Admission is complimentary, however please RSVP, indicating any dietary requirements, by Friday 19 May 2017.
