Event Description

Full Description:
This workshop by the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology will present information on translational science – innovation with commercial applications.

• Professor Michael Monteiro – Nanotechnological applications for future devices
• Professor Ernst Wolvetang – The use of stem cells in regenerative medicine
• Professor Darren Martin – Nanofibres from Spinifex, Creating Change with an Ancient Indigenous Grass

Attendees will learn how our manipulation of technology at the small scale – micro, nano and atomic – can and will change society through the development of big and exciting new innovations that will lead to better outcomes in health, manufacturing, energy and sustainability. Participants will also learn how these innovations are currently being developed at AIBN, and prospects for commercialisation to bring these technologies from the laboratory and into the lives of people around the world.
