Event Description

Full Description:
Presenter: Rev Dr Anita Monro

‘Governance’ is a contemporary watchword for commercial and not-for-profit organisations alike. In the face of scandal and other oversight concerns, churches have grasped hold of secular governance models. Economics has dominated the conversation, with ethics serving as an important adjunct. Neither economics nor ethics are the primary realms of the ecclesia; theology is the language of the church. This paper explores the way in which ecclesiology might be more thoughtfully brought into the governance dialogue, alongside economics and ethics. The Uniting Church, the Christian denomination of the author, provides the particular ecclesial and governance context for this reflection.
