Prospective International Students
The School accepts overseas students above its quota of national students. Overseas students are required to have equivalent pre-requisites ("O" levels) to national students and be able to communicate (speak, write and listen) in English.
Currently there are a number of overseas undergraduate students from Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, West Indies, India, UK, Canada, USA, Eire, Japan, Scandinavia and Africa.
For information on fees please go here. Prospective overseas students should apply direct to the International Students Office of the University of Queensland.

The School of Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland is very keen to accommodate overseas students. In order for a candidate to be advised whether or not a formal application would be accepted, or whether there are facilities in a particular field of interest the following information would need to be submitted to the School:
- An official full statement of academic record to date;
- Language of instruction (if not English then evidence of competence in English - IELTS 6.5 or minimum TOEFL 550 + TWE5);
- Details of employment since graduation and any scientific papers published;
- Evidence of the financial support promised. The cost of postgraduate studies for those students who do not hold scholarships such as one provided by the Australian government would be a fee charged for supervision and tuition.
Depending on qualifications it may be possible to enter our Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Studies course. Successful completion of the Diploma enables entry to Masters candidacy, either a Master of Veterinary Studies (course work) or a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) (research).
Once into the Master of Philosophy programme, it may be possible to upgrade to PhD; the whole process to completion of the PhD could take about 4 years.
For further information please access the International Education Office.
