     Therapeutic Targeting Group
The Therapeutic Targeting Group (TTG) is a unique multi-disciplinary group of researchers within UQ’s School of Pharmacy. This group’s diverse research expertise is well reflected in its broad range of current work – target identification, synthetic organic chemistry, molecular biology, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, in vitro biochemical and pharmacological experimentation, cell culture, and in vivo experimentation. These techniques are applied to projects in the fields of peptide drug delivery, pain pharmacology, cardiovascular function, inflammation, toxicology, cancer research and drug formulation.

The multi-disciplinary nature of TTG's research has enabled it to develop strong research and publication performance and also effective collaborations with industry. TTG has established collaboration with many researchers within the Institute for Molecular Biosciences (IMB) thus placing it in a firm position to be part of the biotechnology boom in Brisbane.

     Quality Use of Medicines
Quality Use of Medicines is one of the four arms of Australia’s National Medicines Policy. Australians need access to safe, effective medicines, produced by a viable medicines industry in Australia, but they also need to use those medicines in the best way possible to achieve good health outcomes.

     Modelling and Simulation
The modelling and simulation group at the School of Pharmacy, University of Queensland, includes internationally recognised researchers that have a diverse range of interests in the area of pharmacometrics. Pharmacometrics refers to the analysis of experiments and clinical studies for the purposes of quantitation of drug effects, optimisation of study designs and selection of best dosing regimens.
