 Profile

The Southern Clinical Division of the School of Medicine was created in 2000 as the administrative unit by which the nine clinical disciplines south of the river in the School of Medicine are supported.

The Southern Clinical Division has staff at the following hospitals:

  • Princess Alexandra
  • Mater Misericordiae
  • Greenslopes Private
  • Belmont Private
  • Gold Coast
  • Ipswich,
  • QEII
  • Redlands
  • Logan
Along with The Park at Wolston Park, Inala Health Centre, affiliated general practices and specialist practices, and other facilities within the Southern Health Zone of Queensland Health.

The main functions facilitated by the Southern Clinical Division are:
  • Delivery of the Graduate Medical Course and Postgraduate Courses
  • Research and Research-based Postgraduate Courses
  • Clinical Service Delivery
  • Integration with Hospitals and linkages with Professional Bodies
  • Developing and maintaining collaborative links with external research organisations
