The School of Human Movement Studies has strengths in the bio-physical, behavioural, and socio-cultural aspects of movement and physical activity. The mission of the School of Human Movement Studies is to extend, apply and transmit knowledge about human movement in order to enhance the quality of life for all. It is widely recognised as the leading unit of its kind in Australia, conducting multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary teaching, research and community and professional service programs on movement, physical activity and health that are of the highest international standard. Research strengths in the bio-physical, behavioural, and socio-cultural aspects of movement and physical activity underpin teaching programs in health & physical education, exercise science, sport studies, sports medicine, ergonomics, sports coaching, sport & exercise psychology and health promotion.
