 Research Project

2010 - 2011  Setting the standard: UQ Science engagement with the Learning and Teaching Academic Standards (LTAS) project
Abstract:  The LTAS discipline scholars for Science have recently been announced and tasked with articulating national graduate learning outcomes for all science students in Australia. The T/L leadership in Science at UQ needs to take a pro-active approach in engaging in this project, as the standards set in science could determine the standard by which our graduates will be measured in the very near future. The expected outcome of this project is three-fold:

(1) Raise awareness of ‘standards’ project and the implications for T/L of undergraduate science at UQ;
(2) Create relationships with Science discipline scholars to ensure active involvement of UQ Science in setting national science standards; and
(3) Build the T/L leadership capacity of the UQ Science teaching and learning committee (TLC) members.
