The mission of the Alzheimer's Disease Research Unit (ADRU) is to improve the quality of life for dementia sufferers and their carers.

The Unit is a joint initiative between the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital (RBWH) Geriatric Psychiatry and Geriatric Medicine Services, The RBWH Research Foundation and The University of Queensland. It was established in March 2006 as a result of a generous bequest.

The aim of the Unit is to develop a strong track record in dementia research that will improve the quality of life of both dementia sufferers and their carers.
