Prof Zhiguo Yuan    Professor

	Biography

Prof Zhiguo Yuan's research interests are in: modelling of biological wastewater treatment processes; sludge population optimisation through process control; and quality assurance of simulation models.

He received his PhD from BeiHang University (BUAA), China, in 1992. His current research projects are in the fields of:

• Nitrogen removal via nitrite pathway
• Optimising enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR) processes through manipulating the bacterial population
• Endogenous processes in biological wastewater treatment processes
• Optimal Use of External Carbon for Enhancing Denitrification
modelling and optimal management of sewer systems
