 Biography

Nutrition and Dietetics

Olivia is a dietitian and lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Queensland. Olivia has worked in the food industry, designing functional foods for a variety of groups. She also has experience in the clinical management of chronic disease and clinical education. Olivia's main research streams include: (i) Clinical trials of novel food components for the management of chronic disease; (ii) The role of macro- and micronutrients in modulating metabolic risk underpinning a range of chronic conditions and (iii) Developing new and innovative models of foodservice delivery to prevent nutritional decline and improve quality of life in acute care hospital patients and residents of aged care facilities. Olivia is an Associate Editor for the Dietitians Association of Australia national journal, Nutrition and Dietetics. In 2010, Olivia received Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian status, as recognition of her professional leadership and expertise. The Australian Research Council, the National Health and Medical Research Council, Queensland Health and the University of Queensland fund some of her research projects. Olivia is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Mater Medical Research Institute and an Affiliate Lecturer with the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and
Food Innovation.
