Professor Laurence Walsh    Head Of School

	Biography

Laurence Walsh is Professor of Dental Science, and Head of the School of Dentistry at The University of Queensland. He is also the Program Director for "Laser Applications in the Health Sciences" for the UQ Centre for Biophotonics and Laser Science. Laurence maintains a specialist clinical practice in special needs dentistry.

Laurence received his undergraduate education in dentistry at UQ and then undertook a PhD in pathology. He started his postdoctoral education at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, and his executive education at the Stanford University Graduate School of Management.

His research interests are in advanced technologies such as lasers and biomaterials, and in dental microbiology.
