 Biography

My research area is decompilation, i.e. the transforming of executable programs to a high level source code. Applications include source code recovery, malware checking, and porting to other platforms.

Mike spent 20 years in industry, first as an electronics engineer, then as a software developer. He's been at UQ since 1997, first as a research assistant developing the UQBT Binary Translator, and since 2002 as a PhD student researching decompilation. He has been interested in disassembly and reverse engineering since high school.
