 Biography

Dennis' research focus is primarily in the area of ageing, exercise and the musculoskeletal system. The goal is to prevent/slow the age-related decline in the musculoskeletal system and hence improve the quality of life and functional lifespan for older adults.

Dennis Taaffe joined the School of Human Movement Studies in 2001 as a Senior Lecturer from the National Institute on Aging in the United States. He completed his PhD degree in exercise physiology from the University of Oregon and postdoctoral training was undertaken at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dennis has previously held several academic and research appointments in Australia, the USA and Finland.
