 Biography

Research of physical and psychological characteristics of whiplash and neck pain

Michele Sterling is Associate Director, Centre for National Research on Disability and Rehabilitation Medicine (CONROD) and Director of the Rehabilitation (Medical and Allied Health) Research Program (CONRD). She is also a Senior Lecturer in the Division of Physiotherapy, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. Michele’s main focuses of research are: the physical and psychological factors underlying whiplash associated disorders; the prediction of outcome following whiplash injury, improving the timing and nature of interventions for whiplash and neck pain and the clinical translation of research findings to clinical practice. She has received over $4M in research funding and has published widely in the area of whiplash injury. She was awared a UQ Foundation Research Excellence Award in 2005
