 Biography

Dr Stadler’s research interests include media and identity, media ethics, feminist and phenomenological film theory and analysis, theories of spectatorship, and aspects of media effects. Her current research in the digital humanities focuses on interactive cartography and location and landscape in Australian cinema.

I was appointed to Film and Television Studies at the University of Queensland in January 2006, after having held teaching and research positions at the University of Cape Town in South Africa, and at Murdoch University in Western Australia.
I convene the Film and Television Studies Major and am Deputy Director of Research Higher Degrees in the School of English, Media Studies and Art History. In 2008 I was awarded the University of Queensland Teaching Excellence Award and the Faculty of Arts Award for Teachign Excellence. Previously I was a recipient of the Murdoch University Vice Chancellor's Teaching Excellence Award (2000) and University of Cape Town Teaching Merit Awards (2004, 2005).
