Food properties, extrusion, and processing-quality interface, with special interest in starch. He received his PhD from the University of Reading, UK, in 1987. His current research projects are in the fields of:
• Extrusion Studies
• Model starch studies
• Mechanisms of starch gelatinisation
• Glass transition and its relation to properties of materials
• Applications of temperature-modulated DSC (MDSC) for thermal analysis
• Collaborative Research on Sago Starch in Papua New Guinea
