 Biography

My reserach interests are to assist in the management and prevention of musculosletal injuries and pathologies.

My research focuses on understanding effects, mechanisms and efficacy in the management of musculoskeletal pathologies. Musculoskeletal conditions are prevalent in Australia and negatively affect health and well-being by limiting participation in an active lifestyle. My research activity involves two streams: 1) studies that investigate the epidemiology and aetiology of musculoskeletal conditions, and 2) physiological studies that investigate changes that occur to the neuromuscular and sensorimotor systems in the presence of musculoskeletal pathologies. These studies contribute to our understanding of factors which may underlie the development of different musculoskeletal conditions and findings provide novel considerations for medical and physiotherapy interventions in the management and prevention of musculoskeletal problems and co-morbidities.
