 Biography

Richard Robinson is the Manager of Industry Partnerships and a Lecturer in the School of Tourism.

Mr Richard Robinson is engaged at the School of Tourism as the Manager of Industry Partnerships and as a Lecturer in Hospitality Management. He has 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry as a chef where he predominantly managed food service operations in the prestige club sector. During that time he completed his undergraduate degree at Griffith University in humanities and the social sciences. In 2004 Mr Robinson graduated from The University of Queensland with a Graduate Diploma in International Hotel Management. He is currently a doctoral candidate with the School and has a particular interest in the area of labour turnover and attrition in the hospitality industry. His other research interests include the sociology of food, and academe/ industry partnerships. Richard’s Industry Partnerships role assists in strategic relationship building between the School and all sectors of the Tourism related industries, both private and public. His teaching areas include international hotel operations & management, food and beverage management and professional development studies.
