Over 14 years of experience in the areas of rock breakage, excavation engineering and mining geomechanics with particular expertise in the continuous improvement of both open pit and underground drilling and blasting technology & practices. Over the years He has developed a number of explosive rock breakage and fragmentation models applicable to both underground and open pit operations. His communication, technical and organisational skills have contributed to the successful completion of projects in several mining operations and associated clients across Australia, South America, Africa and Europe. He was part of the team that developed a blast design and analysis software with commercial licenses in over 30 countries. He is currently a Senior Research Fellow (Blasting Specialist) of the BRC mining and Geology Research Centre (SMI/UQ) and Senior Consultant through JKTech Pty. Ltd. He also lectures rock blasting at the School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering of the University of Queensland
