 Biography

James' research interests lie in the place of music within Australian society.

James is a PhD candidate at the School of English, Media Studies and Art History at the University of Queensland. His research project is titled 'Classical Music Networks: Creative Industry, Community and the Arts in Australia'. His work is looking at the role of classical music in cultural policy in Australia.

James is based in Sydney, where he has a profile as a classical musician. He performs regularly as a casual member of Sydney's orchestras and teaches as a casual member of staff at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

He has released one solo recording and two with his saxophone quartet, Continuum Sax.
