 Biography

Ben Myers specialises in seventeenth-century English literature and in the history of Christian theological thought.

His doctoral thesis, revised and published as Milton’s Theology of Freedom (2006), explored the theology of John Milton’s epic poem Paradise Lost against the background of post-Reformation religious controversies.

In collaboration with Professor Philip Almond, he is currently working on an ARC-funded project on Early Modern apocalypticism. He is also working with Professor Ross McKenzie on the interface between natural science and Christian theological thought, and he is developing an independent study of the early twentieth-century Swiss theologian Karl Barth.
