	Biography

Martin's research interests include the sociology of education, social justice in education, gender and education, school reform and new pedagogies.

Martin was involved in the development of 'productive pedagogies' and was Project Manager for the Queensland School Reform Longitudinal Study. He has worked on numerous other government funded projects. His work in the field of gender, boys’ education and pedagogies has been significant in contributing to international and national understandings of these issues. He regularly conducts workshops with teachers on gender and on pedagogy. He was a former high school teacher and has co-authored four social science textbooks for high schools.
