After beginning my career as a LOTE Chinese Teacher with Education Queensland I continued my teaching career at high schools in both China and Australia. I have also taught at Universities in China and am currently employed on a casual basis, lecturing and tutoring both Chinese language and Academic English at the University of Queensland. After completion of my honours degree I continued research into Chinese education at the doctoral level. The title of my dissertation is "Developing Northwest China Through Distance Education: Government policy and foundation level practice". My current research interests include Chinese education, distance education in China, the Western Regions Development Program and Chinese Online Language teaching.
