 Research Interests

2008     Remote Assessment of Sleep Apnoea in Children
Sleep apnoea is a problem affecting children in remote areas, far from expensive sleep lab facilities. Minimal signal acquisition is required to classify and prioritise children suspected of sleep apnoea problems.
Keywords:  paediatric sleep apnoea, telemedicine, remote monitoring

2004     Physiological Control of Rotary Artificial Hearts
Rotary blood pumps require reliable signals for the physiological control of their speed so that patients can undertake a range of physical activities from sleep to walking. Overpumping causes ventricular suction while underpumping limits physical activity.
Keywords:  rotary blood pump, artificial heart, physiological control

1985     Computer Controlled Drug Infusion Systems
Automated drug infusion systems for anaesthesia and intensive care provide improved quality of patient care, reducing mortality and the duration and hence cost of hospital stays.
Keywords:  Automated drug infusion systems, anaesthetic infusions, circulatory management
