Professor Marwick heads the Cardiac Imaging Group and is a cardiologist with special interest in cardiac imaging. After graduation from medical school in Melbourne, Tom Marwick completed his medical internship, residency and registrar training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. He went on to gain fellowships in cardiology and cardiac imaging, with positions at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio, USA. Appointments as a visiting professor and senior lecturer allowed him to travel, teach and research in Belgium and England, before returning to take up a Professorship of Medicine with The University of Queensland at the Princess Alexandria Hospital.
Professor Marwick is an extremely active researcher with more than seven active research grants in 2004. He is an editorial reviewer or editorial board member on twenty-two journals, and has more than 200 article publications. He teaches in the University of Queensland’s graduate medical school program and supervises higher research degree students.
