 Biography

My research focuses on health behaviors and health service utilization, social gerontology, ethnic health experience, transnational social practice and identity. I am currently developing a research project in the role of the Internet in patients’ health decision making and coping with chronic illness in everyday life.

I am a sociologist by training and had worked at the Department of Sociology and Australasian Centre on Ageing before I joined the School of Population Health in 2009. Over the past few years, I have actively engaged in a broad range of research on issues of health service use, management of chronic disease, ageing and migrant settlement.
