 Biography

Alison's MPhil research investigated whether long-term group music therapy programs, early in the progression of dementia, can reduce the onset of agitation shown by people with Alzheimer's disease.

Alison completed her Bachelor's degree in music therapy at UQ in 1999. She has since worked as a music therapy clinician in aged care, supervisor of music therapy students on clinical placements and casual lecturer at UQ. Alison has also published articles in the Australian Journal of Music Therapy and presented at conferences both in Australia and overseas. Her Master's research thesis has now been submitted for examination and she is currently working on another research project with people with dementia in Limerick, Ireland.
