	Biography

Trace element speciation of essential and toxic metals. Isolation of beneficial phytochemicals and their identification.

My research interests have included the study of trace element speciation in the bioavailibility of essential and toxic elements to plants with a focus on aluminium and copper in acid soils and surface waters. I have also had a strong interest in the isolation and identification of phytochemicals that have beneficial effects in human health. This involves my long term experience in chromatography and mass spectrometry to purify active fractions and identify the compounds present.
These research interests have also required the development of analytical methods utilizing state-of-art technology instrumental methods to meet these requirements.
