The aim of my research is to understand and control the relationships between processing, structure and properties in light metals and alloys. I completed my PHD in 2009 on the formation of aluminium nitride on aluminium for hard surface coatings and production of powder metallurgy ceramic reinforced composites. Since then I have worked as a Research Fellow with the DMTC on understanding the relationship between processing, structure and properties of new titanium alloys for biomedical and aerospace applications.
