 Biography

Dr Lydia Kavanagh's research interests are in: wastewater treatment, sustainable tourism and engineering education.

She received her PhD from the University of Queensland in 2003. Her current research projects are in the fields of:

• Modelling methodology to validate and improve the sustainability of tourism destinations
• Digestion of winery wastewater
• Engineering as a tool to improve sustainability in tourism
• Ecololgical engineered systems of wastewater treatment
• Development of a Green Globe 21 certification system for precincts
• Ensuring collaborative teamwork in undergraduate subjects
• Engineering education
