Mary Ann Hunter’s current research interests include the role of arts in peacebuilding, contemporary youth performance, and mentoring in the arts industry. Dr Mary Ann Hunter is a researcher, consultant, and artsworker based in Tasmania. She is a former lecturer in Drama at the University of Queensland and the National Institute of Education, Singapore, and has consulted for Australian and overseas government agencies, non-government organisations, arts companies, and schools. Mary Ann was recently founding coordinator of 'meenah mienne' Aboriginal arts mentoring program and is a collaborator on the international Acting on the World Stage project on performance and peacebuilding. She is currently national evaluator of the Australia Council’s Artists-in-Residence Initiative.
