 | Biography | |
Peter is currently undertaking his Doctor of Philosophy degree. His research is endeavouring to understand the manner in which students' abilities are constructed and distributed through assessment in Senior Physical Education. This work draws upon the social theories of Basil Bernstein and Pierre Bourdieu to understand how ability is constituted in the Physical Education context and how assessment contributes to and consolidates that constitution. Specifically, Peter is interested in the elements of a person's habitus that may be either privileged or marginalised through assessment modes and tasks employed in Senior Physical Education.
