Functional genomics and molecular physiology of nodules. Prof. Gresshoff is the leader of the Molecular Genetics and Genomics research group. His main research interests are in the following areas:
Functional genomic analysis of supernodulation and nitrate inhibition of nodulation in soybean (Glycine max)
Molecular physiology of nodule initiation and function in Lotus japonicus (Ethylene, Nod-receptors, ammonia transporter)
Molecular mapping in Lotus japonicus
Gene discovery by promoter-trapping and insertional mutagenesis in Lotus japonicus
Phytoestrogen production in soybean
Functional genomics comparisons of nodule and lateral root development.
He is also a member of the editorial boards of the following journals:
Journal of Biomedicine & Biotechnology
Journal of Biomedicine and Biotechnology is an international journal publishing original work in all areas of Biomedicine (carcinogenesis, epidemiology, gene therapy, mutagenesis, pathology, pharmacology, toxicology, etc) and biotechnology (microbial, animal and plant biotechnology).
Journal of Biomedicine and Biotechnology welcomes also papers from geneticists and molecular biologists covering the area of Animal, Bacterial and Plant genetics. The journal will also consider contributions about medical informatics, medical technology and commercial biotechnology.
