Dr Geoff Ginn’s research interests include historic heritage, public history in the Queensland setting, history of cultural policy, historical archaeology and heritage tourism. Dr Ginn is a lecturer in history, teaching in the areas of Public & Applied History, Heritage Studies, Environmental History, Modern Britain.
His current research projects include: - A study of the life and collections of JSM Ward; and
- Cultural philanthropy in late-Victorian London.
Dr Ginn is the Director, Centre for Applied History & Heritage Studies, and the Executive Director of Histori|co Research Services (a trading name of UniQuest P/L). Geoff supervises collection development and manages all consulting projects undertaken through the Centre, and is involved in a range of publishing, community and promotional activities.
His other activities include: - Member of the Judging Panel for History, Queensland Premier's Literary Awards (2003-05);
- Member, State Library Board of Queensland;
- Member, Executive Committee, Professional Historians Association (Qld.);
- Member, Fryer Library Advisory Committee.
