 Biography

Dr Massimo Gasparon's research interests are in the fields of: Environmental geochemistry; Arc volcanism, mantle-crust interactions in subduction zone environments; and Potassic and ultrapotassic volcanic rocks in orogenic environments.

He received his PhD from The University of Hobart. His current Research Projects are in the areas of:

  • Anthropogenic trace metal contamination in Antarctic fresh waters, soils, and organisms

  • Groundwater geochemistry in the Great Artesian Basin

  • Magmatic processes in the west Sunda arc and crust/sediment/mantle interactions in a subduction environment

  • Potassic and ultrapotassic rocks of the Roman Comagmatic Province (Italy)

  • Neogene magmatism of the northern Apenninic Arc (Italy)
