Dr Anne Galligan’s research interests include Australian literature. Post-Doctoral Fellow of the Australian Studies Centre (2003-2005).
Dr Anne Galligan is currently working on a project titled: 'Reformulating an Australian Cultural Infrastructure: Strategic Intersections Between the Publishing Industry, Libraries and Cultural Policy'. This project examines both the cultural infrastructure that undergirds the ‘literary field’ in Australia and the policy interventions that simultaneously reinforce and redirect its diverse activities. It will address three strategic, intersecting elements: the role of the publishing industry in the production and circulation of Australian texts with a specific study of the international book fairs; the role of the national library network as an enabling institution providing access to the information commons; and the role of cultural policy in both supporting and mediating activities in the literary field. Anne's doctoral thesis was 'The Textual Condition: Negotiating Change in the Australian Literary Estate' and her masters thesis was 'The Australian Author in a Web of Change: Authorship and Publishing 1972-1997'.
