2009 - 2009     Leading Practice Strategies for Addressing the Social Impacts of Resource Developments
Client:  Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation, Queensland Government
Description:  As part of the Sustainable Resource Communities (SRC)Policy, the Queensland Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation (DEEDI), in association with the Queensland Resources Council and the Local Government Association of Queensland, commissioned the Centre for Social Responsibility in Mining (CSRM) to undertake research on leading practice approaches for addressing the social impacts of resource development adopted by other jurisdictions. The research considered the promise and pitfalls of such approaches and the applicability to the Queensland context, and provides case studies, advice and principles to assist the development and implementation of the SRC policy in Queensland.



2009     Establishment of a Community Reference Group to Address Cumulative Impacts
Client:  Isaac Regional Council
Description:  Assisting the Isaac Regional Council to form a Community Reference Group, comprising all major stakeholders, to develop and implement strategies for dealing with the cumulative impacts of mining on local amenity. The primary focus is on issues associated with monitoring and controlling dust.
