 Biography

Carriage of Goods by Sea; Admiralty Law; Marine Insurance

Sarah Derrington teaches maritime law at undergraduate and post-graduate level and equity.
She is also the Deputy Director of Studies within the BEL Faculty. Her main area of research is marine insurance law and her PhD thesis was a comparative study of non-disclosure, misrepresentation and breach of warranty in contracts of marine insurance. She has published in various journals including Lloyd's Maritime & Commercial Law Quarterly, the Insurance Law Journal, the Journal of Maritime Law and Commerce, the maritime law area of the Laws of Australia and the Butterworths Supreme Court Forms, Precedents and Pleadings and has written a chapter in The Modern Law of Marine Insurance, Vol 2 by D. Rhidian Thomas (LLP, 2002).
Dr Derrington continues to practise at the private Bar, exclusively in shipping law.
